The number of New Home Sales unexpectedly jumped 8.9% last month, while the Case Shiller Home Price Index shows that prices have declined 1.7% over the last 12 months. More, smaller homes being offered for sale should slowly help affordability fall back in line.

Durable Goods Orders increased 1.7% this month, when there was a -1.0% decline expected.  That miss is putting upward pressure on interest rates.
